In the clear.

Este es, sin duda, uno de los capítulos más especiales para Dave Grohl. En declaraciones que dio para una entrevista promocional de este documental, el cantante aclaró que estar en Nueva Orleans, realizando este documental, lo había vuelto a enamorar de la música.

En este capítulo, Grohl muestra a esta ciudad como el lugar donde se ha dado una importante mezcla musical gracias a las distintas influencias culturales.

No hay que dejar de lado que Nueva Orleans fue testigo de la evolución del jazz y el hogar de bandas como Fats Domino, Louis Armstrong, Harry Connick Jr., Little Richard, Juvenile, Aaron Neville y los Neville Brothers y muchos otros.

Por su parte, el líder de los Foo Fighters se reúne con Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Cyril Neville y Trombone Shorty, quien fue el músico más joven en tocar en el New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, a los 4 años de edad. Dave también se sienta a hablar con todos estos personajes sobre la historia de esta ciudad, los «funerales jazz», el Mardi Gras y las consecuencias que dejó el huracán Katrina.

En este episodio, Grohl conoce a Ben Jaffe, un descendiente de la famosa familia de jazz que inauguró el legendario Preservation Hall del French Quarter, lugar en el que los Foo Fighters graban la sexta canción del álbum, «In the Clear».
