Mariah Carey tuvo un espectacular regreso al mundo de la música y ganó 5 premios. Carrie Underwood y Shakira lograron 3 galardones cada una. El premio al mejor álbum del año correspondió a 50 Cent por “The Massacre” y la mejor canción del año 2005 fue “We belong together” de Mariah Carey.
