Iron Maiden celebra sus 20 años con un Box set de edición limitada y un disco de grandes éxitos.<br>

Iron Maiden resumirán sus 20 años de historia en una caja con 6 discos de material en vivo y un disco de éxitos. Cada uno está programado para salir a la venta el 5 de noviembre en los Estados Unidos y el 4 de noviembre a nivel internacional. Tanto la caja ‘Eddie’s Archive’ – que estará disponible en una edición limitada de color plateado – y la colección ‘Edward the Great’ toman el nombre de Eddie, la mascota de la banda.

‘Eddie’s Archive’ tiene dos discos dobles que van de las primeras actuaciones de la banda hasta 1998. Titulados ‘BBC Archives’, los dos primeros discos fueron grabados entre 1979 y 1988 en el ‘Friday Rock Show’. El set incluye una sesión de 1979 en el estudio con el cantante original Paul Di’Anno, así como apariciones en Reading en 1980 y 1982, así como una actuación de 1998 en el festival Monsters of Rock.

‘Beast Over Hammersmith’, el segundo par de discos, es un show completo de Iron Maiden grabado en 1982.

El tercer par de discos, llamados ‘The Best of the B’Sides’, es una colección de todas las grabaciones de estudio y algunos de los cortes en vivo que han aparecido como lados B en los sencillos de la banda a lo largo de los años. Entre ellos está una serie de covers, como ‘Cross-eyed Mary’ de Jethro Tull, ‘My generation’ de The Who y ‘Doctor doctor’ de UFO.

La edición limitada de la caja viene con una foto de Eddie y también un vaso de cristal con la cabeza de Eddie. Todos los cd’s vienen con booklets de 24 páginas a todo color, incluyendo fotos inéditas.

Simultaneamente con la caja, ‘Edward the Great’ incluye 16 tracks lanzados por la banda. Se incluyen temas como ‘Run to the hills’, ‘Wasted years’, ‘The wicker man’ y una versión en vivo de ‘Fear of the dark’, grabada en el Rock in Rio.

A principios de este año, Iron Maiden tocó unos cuantos shows en la Brixton Academy de Londres, a beneficio del ex baterista de la banda Clive Burr, quien sufre de esclerosis múltiple. El grupo pretende lanzar un álbum con material nuevo el próximo año.
